Do you have a minimum order?

No, we do not necessarily have a minimum order. We ask new stockists to create a good story for their opening order. All re-orders can be in single units or as required.

How long does it take for my order to be dispatched?

All orders from current collections take between 1 to 3 business days. Upcoming collections are usually shown 2 to 3 months in advance and will be dispatched on the given date communicated, once you have seen the new collections.

How many collections do you launch a year?

We generally launch between 6 to 7 collections a year, including Superfine, Mainline, and Steel collections.

Where is my order dispatched from?

All orders are dispatched from our warehouse in Coatesville, Auckland.

Do you charge shipping for wholesale orders?

Yes, we charge a flat rate of $10 for shipping within New Zealand and a flat rate of $35 for shipping to Australia.

Do all products come with packaging?

Yes, we provide beautiful packaging for all of our jewellery. Superfine sterling silver pieces come with a white card and in a white calico pouch. The Steel range comes in black calico pouches, and our Mainline collection, which is sterling silver, comes in a black calico pouch and a box. We also provide care cards for products.

Do you provide point-of-sale elements for your jewellery that we can use in-store to display the ranges?

Yes, we can provide your store with Silk & Steel display elements, including clear blocks, bases, stands, T-bars, and branding blocks. We can also design point-of-sale display elements to fit your space. Once we receive a new order from a new stockist, we will request measurements and photos of your display area to customise the layout of our displays for you. Prices for all of our blocks and bases are available on our wholesale website. Any branded Silk & Steel elements are provided at no charge.

Where is Silk & Steel jewellery made?

All of our gemstone and pearl beaded designs are handmade in Auckland, New Zealand. All of our sterling silver designs, including Superfine and Mainline, are made by our boutique manufacturer in Jaipur, India, handmade by artisans with stones hand-cut to our specifications. Our Steel range, including stainless steel elements, chains, and earrings, are made by our manufacturer in China.

What is Silk & Steel jewellery made of?

Silk & Steel jewellery is made of different materials depending on the collection. Our Steel range is made with stainless steel. All Superfine and Mainline collections are made with sterling silver. We use natural gemstones, pearls, and cubic zirconias.

Is Silk & Steel jewellery high-quality?

Yes, we pride ourselves on our high-quality. The Steel range is vacuum plated, high polished, and extremely durable. We plate all of our jewellery in 14-karat gold. We recommend wiping all jewellery on a from time to time with a soft cloth, to maintain its luster. 

The sterling silver range is our finer range and handmade by artisans. Silver is rhodium-plated and gold is micron 14-karat gold plated. We plate in three microns on all our rings.

We also provide care cards to ensure customers know how to wear and look after their jewellery.

How would you advise my customer to care for their jewellery?

We recommend that customers only wear their sterling silver gold plated jewellery occasionally and avoid sleeping or showering with it. This will help maintain the luster and life of gold plating. We also suggest avoiding harsh chemicals and hand sanitisers when wearing gold plated rings, as these chemicals can strip the jewellery, including solid gold. Following our care guidelines will help ensure that all jewellery is looked after to its best potential.

How many collections do you release a year?

We generally release between 6 to 7 collections a year. These collections include Superfine, Steel, and Mainline collections, and we tend to release a Christmas collection in November. Each collection is designed to work together, so that new collections are a continuation and seamlessly blend together. We do not require stockists to order every piece in the collection, nor do we expect stockists to carry each range.

What ring sizes do you carry?

We generally stock ring sizes US 7 and US 8, and depending on the collection, we may also stock US 6 and US 9. In Superfine, our ring sizes are US 6.5 and US 7.5. We have a ring size chart available on our website. Should you need this for your customers, we can also provide you with a ring sizer. Please email us to request this.

What about custom orders?

If your customer requires a larger or smaller ring size, than our standard sizes, we can possibly accommodate this depending on the style. Please email us to enquire and we can let you know if there is an additional cost, and timeframe.

Is Silk & Steel jewellery covered under warranty?

Yes, we pride ourselves on quality and will always stand by our products and customers. We will take our stockists' lead, as you know your customers best. If something is faulty, we will always repair or replace it.

What if something is out of stock?

If something is out of stock, we can backorder it for you. If there is a piece from a previous collection, please equire as we may still be able to make it for you.

What are your payment terms for new customers?

For brand new stockists, we will ask you to complete our credit application form and provide trade references. We usually require upfront payment for first orders, and then our payment term will be the 20th of the following month.

How do I re-order?

You can use our new wholesale website to place your orders or email us directly, if you wish. We will then confirm your order, and if there are any out-of-stock items, we will backorder them and let you know the approximate ETA.

Do you carry stock, if I need to reorder?

Yes, we always carry stock of new collections, which will remain current for 12-18 months. All bestsellers that become core will continue to be restocked.

Who is my main point of contact for all wholesale orders?

You will be liaising directly with either Sarah Cleland in the studio or Sarah Cotterall, who will be showing you the collections.

What marketing material do you provide?

Silk & Steel take great pride in maintaining a high level of quality branding, including clear-cut product images and beautiful campaign images. We use the best photographers in New Zealand for fashion and products. These images will be available for download on Dropbox for you to use on your website and social media. We also provide videos for certain collections. We are also represented by Showroom22 and regularly featured in magazines and by key influencers, which you are welcome to share on your social media.

On request, we can print point-of-sale material for your in-store displays and customise it to your space. Please email us regarding this.
